1st DSDnet Training School 2015

From 8.-10. June 2015 the first DSDnet Training School took place in Gent, Belgium. Our local organizers Martine Cools and An Desloovere had selected a wonderful venue with Het Pand, a historic building which is the congress center of the University of Gent.

Trainees were from almost all participating COST countries and our Near-Neighbouring Countries Russia and Egypt. In addition, we had observers from the International Partner Countries Indonesia and Brazil. These young professionals were from different specialities, spanning from biology over clinical medicine to psychology and ethics. They were accompanied by very eager participants from the support groups.

The trainers were equally international and also from overseas. The programme was excellent and well attended with quite a lot of discussions. It included lectures, small group sessions and even role plays. The students ranked the programme as very good and demanding in its interdisciplinarity.

A lot of social interaction was promoted and we had a wonderful trip to Brugge as well as nice evenings in Gent. Thanks to all who made it to this memorable event. More pictures can be found on the closed portion of this website for participants and members of the COST Action.
