Stefan Wudy

Stefan A. Wudy received training in Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetology at the University of Ulm under Prof. Dr. W.M. Teller, a pioneer of Pediatric Endocrinology in Germany. In Ulm, he also wrote his medical thesis on the analysis of steroids by gas chromatography under supervision of Prof. Dr. J. Homoki. Thereafter, he spent 2 years as a postdoctoral research fellow of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the Department of Steroid Research and Mass Spectrometry (Director Prof. C.H.L. Shackleton, Ph.D., D.Sc.) at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (California, USA). He is currently Professor of Pediatrics and Head of the of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetology at Justus Liebig University Giessen (Germany), which includes an internationally renowned hormone laboratory. The latter consists of the “Steroid Research & Mass Spectrometry Unit” as well as the “Peptide Hormone Laboratory”. Over the last 25 years, his scientific work in steroid research has been largely funded by DFG and has received many scientific awards
